VideoLink Upgrades Baltimore Studio to HD with Enhanced IP and Hibernia Networks

August 29, 2013 — Newton, MA

VideoLink, a leader in broadcast and corporate media services, is pleased to announce the upgrade of their downtown Baltimore insert studio to provide high-definition (HD) capture and transmission of video through both Enhanced IP™ and a Hibernia Networks 1.5Gb HD-SDI circuit. The Baltimore studio now offers both fiber and IP, to meet the connectivity requirements and preferences of every national and international news network.

VideoLink’s Enhanced IP™ has been rigorously tested and successfully employed for live video feeds to broadcast television programs, webcasting CDNs, and for multi-location remote productions. It is now the primary transmission method at all six VideoLink studio locations and is used by more than 70 ReadyCam® on-site studios installed in offices around the world.

Hibernia Networks owns and operates over 170 network Points of Presence (PoPs) on over 27,000 kilometers of fiber, supplying global media companies with flawless delivery of video to important television, cable TV and satellite networks. Hibernia connects wholesale, financial, and media companies in North America, Europe, and Asia.

“To maintain our commitment to total customer satisfaction, it is important that we continue to offer the highest quality video and transmission options at the lowest possible cost by constantly innovating.” Rich Silton, VideoLink’s President and CEO, says of the Baltimore upgrade.

The Baltimore studio, located in downtown Baltimore, is open 24/7/365 to local businesses, politicians, and media personalities. In addition to the HD insert studio, the facility has a multi-camera studio available for webcasts and video production.
